Sustainability

Buy less. Buy better. Make it last.

We don’t use “sustainability” as a marketing phrase. We use it as a guiding principle. Authentic Himalayan crafts are, by their nature, made to last — and lasting things are the most sustainable choice you can make.

  • 01

    Objects built to outlast trends

The most sustainable object is one that lasts decades. Brass singing bowls, hand-woven textiles, and bronze statuary are not seasonal — they are heirlooms. Choosing something made to endure is the most impactful sustainability choice you can make.

  • 02

    Minimal, recyclable packaging

We wrap in undyed cotton cloth, use recycled cardboard boxes, and print with soy-based inks. We've removed all single-use plastic from our packing process. The cotton wrapping is reusable — many customers tell us they keep it.

  • 03

    Products built from quality materials

The Himalayan suppliers we work with use materials with deep regional roots — brass, bronze, copper, natural stone, hand-spun wool, and plant-based dyes. Quality materials make products that last longer and need replacing less often.

  • 04

    Buying from established craft traditions

When we choose authentic Himalayan craft products over mass-produced alternatives, we support the suppliers and craft communities who keep these traditions alive. Every purchase is a vote for heritage over disposability.

  • 05

    Responsible UK shipping

We ship with tracked, insured carriers across the UK and work to consolidate orders where possible. We're actively exploring carbon offset options for our delivery network and will publish our approach here as it matures.

  • 06

    Repair, don't replace

Most Koseley pieces can be repaired rather than replaced. A dented bowl can be reshaped; a fraying textile repaired at its edges. Our care guides explain how to maintain each product, and our team is always happy to advise.

An honest note

We ship physical objects across the world. That has a cost.

We are not a zero-impact business. Every parcel that leaves our studio uses fuel, generates packaging waste, and contributes to the logistics footprint of global commerce. We don’t pretend otherwise.

What we can honestly say is this: we minimise what we control, offset what we can’t, and put the surplus margin into the communities where our products originate. If that’s not enough for you, we respect that. But it’s where we are, and we’re being straight with you about it.
